Canvas AR Studio/Adding a 3D Model to a Product Page
Adding a 3D Model to a Product Page
A photograph cannot tell a shopper how a piece will sit on their wall. A 3D model lets them turn it and inspect it; an AR button lets them see it on their own wall at its real size. This page covers how that is actually installed on a store that sells wall art.
What appears on the page
A viewer next to your product images. The shopper can rotate the piece, zoom in, see the depth of the canvas and the texture of the surface. Below it sits a button — pressed on a phone it opens the camera and puts the piece on the wall. On desktop the same button opens the 3D preview instead, so nobody presses a button that does nothing.
What gets installed
A one-line embed in your product page. It pulls the model and the viewer from our servers; your theme, template files and database are untouched. Anything that accepts HTML can run it. You add the line once, and for later products only the product identifier inside it changes.
Who builds the models
We do. There is no dashboard for you to learn and no account to manage: you send the artwork file and the size, and you get back a ready embed and a QR code. Adding a new product is the same — send the file. No 3D modelling skill and no Blender.
Why scale is the whole point
What decides a wall-art purchase is not "is this pattern nice" but "is this size right for that wall". Our models are not estimated from the image by AI; they are computed geometrically from the artwork and the stated dimensions, so a 70 × 100 cm piece measures 70 × 100 cm on the wall and can be checked with a tape measure. An AR view that is approximately right does not solve the sizing problem — it creates a new reason for a return.
Page weight
The viewer does not download the model until the shopper presses the button. Your product page loads as it always did, and the weight only lands on visitors who actually want to see the piece in place. Because wall-art geometry is simple, those files stay in the few-hundred-kilobyte range anyway.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a developer?
Usually not. The embed goes into the product description as HTML, which most platforms let you do from the admin. If you want it in the theme template instead, that is a one-time job for whoever maintains your theme.
Does every size need its own model?
Yes. 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 are two models of the same artwork, because they occupy different amounts of wall — which is the thing being communicated.
Which file formats are used?
GLB for Android and desktop, USDZ for iPhone and iPad. Both are produced from the same geometry, so the size is identical on both platforms. You never have to choose a format.
I sell on a marketplace, not my own site
Marketplaces do not run third-party code in product descriptions. The QR route works there: the code goes on the product image, packaging or catalogue, and the shopper scans it.
How long does production take?
Once we have the artwork and sizes it is quick; what sets the schedule is how many products there are. Tell us the catalogue size and we will give you a real date rather than a guess made without seeing it.
See it on one of your own products
Send one piece and its size; we will build the model and prepare the embed.
